It depends on the condition your wood is in:

• We recommend using a solid or semi-solid stain if your wood is old. The thicker material covers more imperfections than a transparent stain.

• Choosing between solid and transparent stains becomes an aesthetic choice if your wood is in good condition. Transparent stains show more of the wood’s natural grain while solid stains hide it.

Stains adhere the best to clean surfaces. The SuperDeck Deck Wash and pressure washer remove stains caused by dirt, mildew, and algae — preparing the surface to receive stain and giving you a refined look.

Always. We protect your home. Using cardboard, plastic, paper, and tape to mask all areas within two feet of our airless paint spray tip, no stain gets on unwanted surfaces.

The bleach is not very strong, and we only apply it directly to the deck. We wash it away with plenty of water, diluting the bleach even more! Once the bleach-water mix reaches nearby areas, it will not cause any damage.

One coat. Adding additional coats darkens the stain, and because our spray–back-brush technique evenly applies the stain, we only need one coat.

A Tip for Picking Stain: If you can’t decide between a darker and lighter color, pick the lighter shade because you can permanently darken it later.

We prefer to use Sherwin-Williams stains. Their transparent and semi-transparent stains are oil-based, while their solid and semi-solid stains are water-based.

The products we use are guaranteed to last for three years. Restain three years after you apply the stain; we can apply another coat of stain without pressure washing or bleaching the wood first, saving you labor costs.
